You Are Significant!

Did you realize that most people live a large portion of their lives not knowing their importance? There is no evidence to disprove God’s view of mankind. In Genesis 1:26-27, God declared the model and image of his creation of man. Romans 12: 4-8 speaks of the diverse gifts each individual is given. Many times discouragement seeps into our thoughts as we compare our abilities to others. Also, when some people are famous and in the limelight, our imagination makes their gift appear as if they carry the model example for all people. Paul the apostle declared that, in God’s eye, every person has a part and is part of one body, with each part functioning in its own specific way, and the body is not fully operational without any one part. Each person has value and is significant to God. Every gift and ability given to each of us can develop and grow. Keep in mind that what you do, your gift, is only part of your identity, who you are as a person carries even more value. First, we are created by God and made in His image. Then, through the atonement of His son Jesus, we have been adopted as His children. God is our father, that alone gives us high value. The next time you find yourself in the dumps because you don’t feel significant, remind yourself that you’re important because you are made in the image of your Father God, the creator of the universe. Food for thought! Orlando Edwards, Assistant Pastor Orlando and Denise Edwards live in White Plains, MD. “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:26-27 MEV “For just as we have many parts in one body, and not all parts have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and all are parts of one another. We have diverse gifts according to the grace that is given to us: if prophecy, according to the proportion of faith; if service, in serving; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with generosity; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.” Romans 12:4-8 Modern English Version (MEV)
